Natsume and Ruka

Best friends Mikan and Hotaru grew up in a small town in the remote countryside. When Hotaru moves to a school for geniuses in Tokyo, Mikan misses Hotaru so badly that she decides to travel to Tokyo herself to find Hotaru. She finds Hotaru in a school called Alice Academy, and finds that the school is actually for people with special powers called Alices Narumi-sensei, a teacher at the school, discovers that Mikan also happens to have an Alice, and Mikan is admitted into the academy. At first, she becomes enemies with a boy with a fire alice but later becomes friends throughout the anime. There she finds friends, love, and a life that she will never forget during that time Mikan uncovers the surprising past of her life. Natsume Hyuuga Natsume (日向 棗) Birthday: November 27 Age 10-11 Natsume is the male protagonist in the series. He is a genius and likes to ditch class frequently. He is hated and feared by a lot of students and is unhappy with the school, and knows of the intentions of it's adults. Natsume is involved in top-secret missions for the Academy as he belongs to the Dangerous Ability Class. He is the only Special Star in the Elementary DivisionHe was paired-up as Mikan's "partner" by the their mostly-absent class teacher, Narumi. This develops his relationship with Mikan as she is around him all the time. He possesses the Alice of Fire and loves Mikan. He is well aware that his best friend Ruka is also in love with Mikan, and at times he would push Mikan to him. They have a seemingly friendly rivalry about the shared object of their affection (Mikan). Natsume later becomes quite blunt about his feelings for Mikan (i.e. kissing her at the Christmas Ball and declaring his love for her in front of the entire Dangerous Ability class, as well as vowing to protect her, and also giving her his alice stone). However, this only occurs because Ruka abandon's his feelings for Mikan, stating that "Natsume needs her more.&quot,It is revealed in the that he possessed the 4th shape of Alice, which takes a toll on the user's lifespan. He is shown later in the manga to be coughing up blood at times. In the anime it was shown that he destroyed his home, though he only lied to protect his sister Aoi(she destroyed it accidentally when she was given an alice stone that made her lose control of her alice and left her seriously injured and blind Nogi Ruka(乃木 流架) Ruka (Western spelling: Luca) is half French and half Japanese. He is Natsume's childhood friend and often referred by Mikan throughout the story as "Ruka-pyon". He has a gentle and pleasant personality that balances out that of Natsume. In chapter 48, after Youichi kisses Mikan on the cheek to say thanks, Ruka does the same and asks Mikan to keep it a secret. Even Hotaru also knows about it and asks him to tell it to Mikan. He always carries around a rabbit as he has the animal pheromone Alice, so he can communicate with themTsubasa frequently teases him about his obvious attraction to Mikan; however, he plans on letting her go for Natsume's sake. He believes that Natsume needs her more, and that because of Natsume's and Mikan's family history they were fated to be. He belongs to the Somatic class and is a Triple Star student like Hotaru and Iinchou, but later throws away his stars, and becomes a No-Star, saying how light he felt without them.
